"You know, you remind me of a poem I can’t remember, and a song that may have never existed, and a place I’m not sure I’ve ever been to."

Blaspheming to send a message
Here’s the context of this: I have an autistic 1st grader who has a major meltdown anytime he makes any sort of mistake so I made him this book about mistakes. Batman is his favorite superhero; he asked me what kind of mistake Batman made and I knew it was a crucial moment, I had to say something relatable that’d make him feel better, so I just went with, “Well, he tried to write his name and he made the ‘B’ backwards and he left out the ‘a’.” So now when he read it, he says, “What? He left out the ‘a’???” As though that’d be absurd when spelling the name Batman, because he’s right, it would be. I love my job.
