When I first moved to New York City, somehow it came into my radar this band called Metronomy. I can’t remember if they were listed on some blog or mentioned on Twitter or what. However, I sampled them on Rdio and loved them and they became an instant iPod friend and a regular soundtrack for subway rides.
Anyway, they announced a free show on July 28 at Pier 54 in Manhattan. I had to go.

And when they perform live, they all wear these Iron Man chest plates. It’s awesome.

This was something my mom said many years ago; I think I was in high school when this topic came up somehow. It suddenly emerged in my head when I was watching “The Tree of Life.” Made me think more on this topic.
